Ciao everybody,
I've just opened the package arrived from PCGS with some coins certified and one of them makes me thinking that an error has been made. but an error of classification.

It is a 1874 Medio Decimo from Chile (KM#137.2 for what I suppose...).
Well, on the holder, as you see from the pictures, I read "Decimo" instead of 1/2 Decimo.
Then the question is: is it me who doesn't understand the obvious or an error has been made? On the submission paper I wrote 1/2 Decimo 1874/3, as I think is the over date one, in any case a 1/2 Decimo.

PCGS has made an error-it is quite obvious to me.

I have said this before, and I will say it again-all of the grading companies, including the big/best ones, make mistakes.

Unfortunately these clerical ones are the worst and, in my opinion, have the least justification.

I have a PCGS Morgan 1921D that is labelled as a 1921. Makes for an interesting conversation piece when I show people and ask them what is wrong with the coin/slab. That being said all the companies make mistakes, and I believe you could send it back in and get it corrected for you. However, I will let someone that submits to PCGS a lot comment on the options.

Heck, that's just a mint mark. I've got a '74 Ike in a '76 holder (PCGS). Not only that, but it's one of their "Secure" slabs so they wouldn't even be able to swap it out if they wanted to!

Yes, they will fix the mechanical error and should do it for free. Call Customer Service and ask for a pre-paid shipping label. They should be able to check the photos, see the error and it's a no-brainer from that.
