Just dropping in. In looking at counterstamps on Lincoln cents, what has been the most unusual location on the coin--obverse or reverse--where a counterstamp has been found (other than the field east of Abe)?

@Earle42. Sorry I forgot to answer your other question. The other counter stamps that are really common besides the Kennedy are the Masonic. I'd guess at any given time if you were to search either on ebay you'd come up with similar results. Maybe slightly skewing more towards the Kennedy's.

Do you know the history of many of them? Just wondering. For example, just why does a person pay to have a hardened stamp made of a dog so they can put it on a cent? Maybe a dog show souvenir or a dog lovers' club?
