Nothing - maybe just a worn die or as simple as the lighting playing tricks on your eyes.

You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.

Why Topic Titles are Important

The title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar....

  • Horrendous: Help!

  • Bad: Need help with coin

  • Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar

  • Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar

  • Awesome: Need help with VAM on 1896 Morgan Dollar

This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.

@JTA, it is really great to see these coins from your collection, but I respectfully recommend that you learn some more about mint errors vs, normal wear and tear. There are multiple good primers here on CCF, with our own @crazyb0's work downloadable from this link:

I hope that this can help you with some of the telltale signs.

Here's a closeup of the area you question. I've circled the only thing I can vaguely make out ant that fits with Die Deterioration. Metal flows outwards in later die states. This causes devices to appear to stretch (think the 1955 Poorman's Doubled die). On Stinkin zinkins, this will take the for of "Disturbed Plate Doubling at times or in the case here, an abraiding(wearing away) of the die in areas close to the rim.
