In the mail I received some coins I had purchased on ebay. They were advertised as uncirculated, and they were. I should have know better than going by the stock photos. It was a late night purchase and I wasn't thinking straight. Anyways the photos were all a nice white, blemish free. When I got them they were so ugly toned! I'm sure all of you know my feelings on that by now. I was really bummed. A 30 day return policy is offered but the buyer is responsible for the return shipping. That said, the coins were $3.75 and the shipping was $3.00 so it's not even worth returning. Long story short, I left a positive/negative feedback. I stated that I appreciated the fast delivery but the coins were too toned for my liking. I feel if the coins are vastly different looking than the stock photos they really should be more forthcoming about any issues like toning and whatnot.

I think that was fair feedback. Like you said, you bought from stock photos, but the seller should have noted the extreme difference. I have bought from a stock photo before, but not raw coins. Slabbed modern coinage from a stock photo is ok, but not much else imo.

Recently I was selling groups of uncirculatedc40's LWCs. They weren't selling well, after looking at my stock pix I saw why. Apparently had picked the worst of the batch on one, ugly stain. I had quite a few sets, but went ahead and pixed each one, and have been selling these individuals "as pictured" very well! Think I've learned a lesson about "stock photos". Guess it can work both ways...

ebay rating system is rigged by ebay policies to make make more sales.

1. As a seller, you can't leave a negative feedback.
2. As a buyer, if you leave negative feedback, sellers can call ebay to change it for any plausible reason.(sometimes, a lie) I think once negative feedback is left, all subsequent responses should be stated so that readers can decide who is at fault.

I'm sure there are more reasons, but I don't want to think about them. I want to enjoy my holidays!!

Before leaving feedback, did you communicate with the seller about the transaction? As a seller on ebay, I always like to see if there is some way I can resolve the problem to the buyers satisfaction. I've issued full refunds and at times sent replacements free of charge. Just a couple of thoughts from the sellers side.

I've attempted to contact the seller a number of times but never got back with me. Even if they decide to send the revised invoice as requested I'm just gonna ignore it. I've already moved on. If they really wanted to make the sale they would have acted in a timely manor. I've even sent a message saying to just cancel the whole order. It remains to be seen if they will. But if they don't care then why should I?
