I don't have a lot of Newfoundland coins but I like coins that have DP numbers and lettering and come across this one somewhere this past year. The date 1 + 7 are Dp lettering on both the Reverse and obverse sides of coin have doubling looking for more information on this year I think it might be a GR-603x

Nice coin, but it will be tough to improve that ED area much.

This is what a one week bath in the acetone then a very good water pressure wash under sink then 3 days in a Leuchtturm Reinigungsbad cleaning bath then another water bath its getting better but looks like it lost some luster and still could use more help. Very stubborn mark

Sorry, but I think it looked better before cleaning.

I agree but that green spot would have kept getting bigger and deeper but I do agree the appearance looked better before with mint luster

A good question arises!
How long does it take for the green spot to spread? At what rate?
Also, does anyone know if the green spot would actually eat its way deeper in to the coin and then in however many years eat right through?

I'm not real sure of your questions but I have been told that it will spread and go deeper if left the way it was. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the subject of getting rid of green marks on coins will chime in with there thoughts.

Sounds like a question for CCF member BadThad, and his Verdi-care...
