My dad left me a sizeable collection. A lot of it it not really marked. As a casual and new observer, is it worth screening them for potential error coins? Or, needle in a haystack?
When I inherited my grandfathers collection I looked at every single coin including the ones in Whitman albums. I found a dozen or so error coins. Nothing that would make anybody rich, but it was fun and those coins are now in 2x2's with a description of the coin written on the holder. You never know what you may find
If you are fortunate enough to inherit a collection, you should always give it proper attention by going through it respectfully. Never assume that any coin in there has no significance. Whoever made the collection thought to put it in there so it was put there for a reason. Think about that.
