I just found out its an error coin! error on scientific name - PITHECOBHAGA JEFFERYI instead of PITHECOPHAGA JEFFERYI need opinions too. what is that shadow figure beside the eagle? Your coin has a lot of roughness to go along with the wear. Perhaps it spent some time in saltwater? My best guess is that the resulting roughness looks a little eagle-like, but was not on the coin when it left the mint. Doubling of that magnitude would show up on the inscriptions too I think. I enjoy learning from experts like you sir. oh! by the way, can you look at my 5 centavo coin too? I dont know what it has on the surface.
