i had this coin for a long time. I just found out its an error coin! error on scientific name - PITHECOBHAGA JEFFERYI instead of PITHECOPHAGA JEFFERYI

need opinions too. what is that shadow figure beside the eagle? I'm seeing all sorts of things around the coin too? could it be struck twice?

Well I'm happy to give my opinion, although others should weigh in as well. Your coin has a lot of roughness to go along with the wear. Perhaps it spent some time in saltwater? My best guess is that the resulting roughness looks a little eagle-like, but was not on the coin when it left the mint. Doubling of that magnitude would show up on the inscriptions too I think.

oh! by the way, can you look at my 5 centavo coin too? I dont know what it has on the surface. I'm guessing its not a Cud error, but I dont really know. ill be posting it as 1944 s five centavo coin. thank you in advance
