Obverse side of coin faded. Probably iron. Black background, yellow center, and a red 5.
Reverse black color with a griffin. A A mm I think.
Possible die crack running n/w to s/e from the center rim on the west side of the coin down under the feet.
I cant find the coin listed anywhere that looks like mine, nor can I find any info on possible varieties or errors

it was probably colored by someone in the public, not a mint addition.

Ohhh.. ok,it looked detailed and deliberate. I know the pics are poor quality. Could you see the die crack?

I see something there. I enlarged it but I can't see very much. Normally a die crack causes a straight-ish line, but that doesn't appear to be straight. Maybe the die had damage to the corners. I don't know.

Can you post a clear closeup of that area?

That coin is made of iron. The reddish colour is just rust.

The European market is not so interested in errors or varieties.

Remember that this was minted at the tail end of WWI-there were shortages everywhere, so the government would have kept using dies a lot longer, hence cracked dies are not rare at all in this period.

Good questions and I understand why you asked them but the value of this coin is very small.

Thanks for the input, from what I had researched and with as poor quality as the coin is, I didn't imagine it would be valuable. I wanted to see if I could acquire any interesting info for my foreign coin collection. Which is small.. but, growing. I have two 1940 Canadian quarters I like and a few others with no value. Lol. Thanks
