Just thought to relax with a nice box of nickels to look through this weekend. Five rolls in and a whopping total of 4% pre64's...Whoopee A majority look like these beauties. I can't even begin to imagine what caused this, parking meters? At first glance thought grease filled...but nope, just whupped.

Better luck next time.

Any nickel slots still in use? Poor coins.

They look like they missed the meter and were just skipped across the parking lot to the attendant.

Hard to see. The 76, is that some type of crack going through the dome on the Rev?

Maybe they made a lot of long distance calls, on a pay phone!

There is this really odd thing some people do with coins, called "spending" them...

But yeah, pretty nasty trashed nickels.

The Nickel from 1989 looks like the beginning of a Dryer Coin. The rest looks like they got trashed from being in circulation too long.
Errers and Varietys.

I often wonder about the story some of these coins could tell about its PMD. Thanks for the post.

Nickels are the only coins we have left that actually "feel" like coins.
