Very nice find and very nice pics. I like how you matched the pics on CC's site. I am wondering if you can gently (so called clean) it up a bit? Especially IGWT.

John1, I have a couple of times taken coins like this and snapped a toothpick in half and used one of the pointy-ended cracked sides to carefully, and gently go in with the microscope and remove that kind of black goo. It's not corrosion or anything just tarry so it comes off pretty easy without needing to press hard and harm the coin. But it is very tedious work. I do wish there were a way to deal with that very common black goo in a fast, non-damaging way. I don't think acetone works on this stuff but maybe just need to soak if for a long time, I haven't tried that.

And thanks for the kind words! I was hoping for a nice find at the end of the year and got my wish.

The flattening of the coin in circulation about hides the doubling. But I feel it is the right die for it though:

I'd leave it alone. Best not to tamper with a coin and make it loose value. What you do today, may drop the price for the future of that coin.
