This coin weighs 0.31 g and has a diameter of 8.5 mm. One side looks similar to a Hoysala silver tara and the other side looks similar to a Dutch Cochin 2 puttun or a silver fanam, but I haven't been able to identify this coin better than that. Any help will be appreciated.

I believe this one is Dutch Cochin, but I could be wrong. Size and weight seem right, but it should be gold?

They exist in copper too

Or even as replica (similar):

I think it looks strange. Do you know something about the provenance

My first thought was Dutch India, but the first side on those ones look less... person-like. Maybe a fanam from the Vijayanagara Empire? The one on this page has the closest matching fanam I could find.
Rest in Peace

w/ Joseph, that Fanam looks like an exact match, Numista example is a bit offset. Weight and size are within reach

Yes I agree it's certainly a very close match to the gold fanam of the Nayaks of Chitradurga from the Vijayanagara Empire, so will put that down for an attribution. Looking at it closely it certainly looks like tarnished silver more than gold, and I don't want to dip it to remove the tarnish, because it has a nice patina. Perhaps it's a late, debased gold-silver alloy, or if they struck some in copper maybe they struck some in silver too? As for provenance, the coins I have came from many sources without records of previous ownership so I'm afraid there isn't any. Many thanks for all your help!
