This is a small silver coin from India, weight 0.68 g, diameter 9.7 mm. From the weight it might be a 1/16 rupee (one anna), but I have no idea as to the kingdom, ruler, or date. Any help will be appreciated.

Actually, that looks more like an akce from the Ottoman Empire rather than something from India. At the bottom of the first picture, I can read the date of 886 (which would be around 1481 in the Gregorian calendar). That narrows it down a bit, but there are a bunch of different mints. For this one, I am thinking the mint is Novar.

Wow! What great attribution, including making out the date. Looking closely at the coin I agree that it's a match, and will put it down with a choice of mint, because that's fine for my purposes. Will keep working on improving my photos with the iPhone, which are difficult to get sharp especially with small coins. Thanks!

Yes, I agree! That mint definitely looks like a closer match than Novar. Thanks for the correction.
