This is called a "BIE" Die Chip and it's a very nice one too! You can call it the "Extra I" cent if you would like.

Ok great!! Thanks so much. I am still working on my '56's then onto '57 & '58's. I'll post a new thread when I could but my next question will be about ones I am finding with the wheats on back looking like Cuds but I will wait until I get set pics taken for a better description. That's the running catalogue for Lincoln BIEs (among other things). You may be able to find the number for yours, or they may be new! Several members here have had new ones attributed.
