So I picked this 2 Cent up for next to nothing, which it is the first in my collection so nice to finally have one. But there is some damage by the shield that I was just wanting to confirm as PMD. Just seems a little questionable because of the lines from the Shield are still there. Thoughts?

Since no one has responded to your post, I will chime in and say in my opinion the spot in the shield on the left hand side is a small lamination.

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable on the subject will weigh in.

Thank you for at least giving me a starting point. Was a little worried with no responses yet.

I'd agree with a small lamination or a flawed planchet, doesn't look like something caused directly by the die itself, but either the planchet or some foreign substance was on it before being stuck.
