*** Edited by Staff to Add Year / Mintmark / Denomination to Title. Titles are Important! ***

attached are images of a find while searching old hoarded coins...

it appears to me to be a 1955D 1DO-002 (coppercoins designation).

the die markers appear to match. the die chip on the wheat stock reverse appears somewhat larger that the one pictures on coppercoins site.

any comments/observations are appreciated...

You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.

Why Topic Titles are Important

The title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar....

  • Horrendous: Help!

  • Bad: Need help with coin

  • Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar

  • Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar

  • Awesome: Need help with VAM on 1896 Morgan Dollar

This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.

That doesn't look anything like that die. Markers mean nothing if the variety isn't present.

Probably just a typo since the 1 key button is next to the 2 key button on the computer. That's a sweet find though!
