I keep asking banks what car company services them and they act like I am asking for nuclear codes. How do I make sure what company get's their coin counter bags? I am pretty sure that if I ask for MWR of dimes or quarters that is probably the armored car company, but... I know on the dimes Loomis puts their names but boxes of halves I have gotten at the same bank have no name but have yellow lettering. What does Guardia use and others?
Finally I was thinking that if I can get Loomis boxes at certain banks then I would want to find a bank that uses Wells Fargo or Guardia or someone else.
However if I cannot tell how far away would you have to dump to reduce the odds of getting your own dump in a coin counter back? I live in the south Metro Boston Area.
I also would prefer not to drive more than 20 miles to a dump bank

GARDA uses String&Son most of the time in my area. Bank of America, Rabobank, US Bank, Citibank, and Union Bank are their biggest vendors out here.
BRINKS uses generic (no name) wrappers most of the time in my area. Once in a while, they will get LOOMIS coins. Wells Fargo uses Brinks most of the time where I live. Chase uses them too a lot of the time. Every once in a great while (usually around holidays), Brinks rolls show up at BofAs locally.
LOOMIS generally always supplies their own coins. I often find LOOMIS coins at Chase Banks and less often at Wells Fargo. Rarely at other banks.
Take note that I am on the West coast, and that things may work differently on your coast.
If you live in a large city, chances are you won't get your own dumps back IF you use banks with different vendors as your pickup and dump banks. Generally, I use Wells Fargo as my main pickup bank, and Chase as my main dump bank. I usually dump my halves at a local US Bank that I've developed a good relationship with.
In general, I dump in the next cities over - most being 10-20 miles away from me.

I try to dump about 10 miles away, not sure if that is too close, I think the courier company makes the difference and trying to find out what Rockland Trust uses, I just opened an account there because they have 25 branches with coin counters within 20 miles of me

Hi - I'm a wannabe armed robber. Can you tell me which armoured car company you use?
Seriously?

Many times I have been to my bank when a Dunbar truck was there. Sooner or later you may see the service truck when you are at your bank.

Seriously? This is what it probably sounds like to them. I suspect it's probably mentioned somewhere online anyway.

I don't see what the big deal is. My bank uses Brinks and they are at the banks on Tuesdays. I always go in on Monday and walk back into the vault and see what bags I want. Then carry them out and pay the teller for them. I think that getting to know the personnel within the bank is the key here. They need to have a certain trust level with you. I once took all of the bags that the bank had but really did not look at the denominations. I took the teller at their word. When I got home I discovered that one of the bags of nickels was actually a bag of quarters. I called them and told them not to count the vault because it was off $800. I drove immediately back and handed them the money to balance the vault. It is all in the relationship with bank.

My bank is TD Bank, they used to have counters but back then I didn't know about buying bags, just did occasional boxes. I hope they get them back. The people at my local bank save halves for me and will order everything except halves which is a corporate policy.. I have one place the has sold me bags and when they fill again I hope to get some from them again. The other bank that had sold me bags, I will try to butter them up and see if I can change their minds.

Pretty sure Rockland uses Loomis, they have a center in Taunton 18 miles from me and one in Wakefield 25 miles from me.
Most of the branches with counters are closer to Taunton, the one I dumped at on Saturday is halfway between the two centers so could go either way. There are 4 branches that are closer to Wakefield so less likely to show up in my pickup banks they are 5-10 miles from Wakefield and 25-30 miles from Taunton so on a pure business platform they would most likely be serviced by Wakefield, while my banks being closer to Taunton, would hopefully be serviced by Taunton, of course there are a couple branches much closer to Tauton I might be able to order half boxes from
BUT is it worth driving 35-40 minutes each way to get to the branches close to the Wakefield location, that adds about 6 gallons of gas ($15) and 2 hours of time, for that cost I could buy 2 90% junk halves!
Or am I overthinking this whole thing?

I was at a bank last year and I asked the teller what company handled their coin rolls. Just as she was saying "This is confidential information," a large Brinks truck with a huge logo on the side appeared in the plate-glass window behind and parked near the drive-though lane, and I watched the Brinks man make a delivery. My question was answered, but not by the teller!

Yeah they all think we are Bonnie and Clyde.
I wonder if I asked the head teller by saying I am a collector searching rolls and I don't want to dump at their bank or a bank with the same armored car company?

The bankers at that bank trust me and showed no surprise when I took the $800 to them. Sometimes when I go in they are out of rolled coins and want to send me to pick up money from a different bank. They always want me to take their money to get the change. I always go and get the money they need from another bank but I always use my own money. I am afraid if I take their money and have car problems then I can not get back to the bank and their vault would be off. With my own money then the vault stays in balance.
The main thing with banks is that the vault needs to stay in balanced. I never question the amount of money that may be in a bag or a box. The bank has paid a certain amount for either a bag or a box depending on the denomination. The bank pays out 50 dollars for a bag of cents. They need to get back $50 to stay in balance. If the bag actually has $47.97 then it is actually short. However the bank still has to account for $50.00. If a person goes in and request the missing money from the bank then it would actually cause the vault to be short. Many roll hunters cause problems by going back in and indicating that the box or bag was short. They may give the difference back out but they will also stop selling to roll searchers. I never even count the money with in the bags. Just remember to not cause problems for the bank.
My bank signs a contract for deliveries on monies. That contract calls for the carrier to carry up to a certain weight of coins. If the bank goes over on the combination of incoming or outgoing change then they are charged for the extra weight. So why would they not want me to take the extra weight for free?

Some banks probably won't want to order halves, for example, out of fear that they will go over their weight quota.
