the 2 looks like the top goes more to the rim ,if you look at the gap from 2 and 8

Deteriorated die on obverse, look at top of R in LIBERTY, see the sawtooth? Will make devices thicker and mushier too as seen on IGWT. Do see a left shift MD on date. Reverse seems normal?
Rest in Peace

I can see why you would ask on all of those possibilities, but I agree with Crazy, as usual.

The devices look normal size for this year. The motto always get people thinking it is a DDO, but all the normal large date cents look like that. There is no spread present on any of the devices posted on these images. Just a normal coin.

You should include the date, mintmark, and the denomination in your titles.

Why Topic Titles are Important

The title of your topic is very important. Let's say you need help attributing an 1896 Morgan Dollar....

  • Horrendous: Help!

  • Bad: Need help with coin

  • Better: Need help with Morgan Dollar

  • Good: Need help with 1896 Morgan Dollar

  • Awesome: Need help with VAM on 1896 Morgan Dollar

This enables the members with expertise pertaining to your question to easily find and answer your question. The title of the topic also becomes the title of the topic's web page, which enables us to attract more collectors to the site. The more members we have, the more we learn.
