First, welcome to CCF. Second, since it isn't a silver wartime nickel I'd say your coin is most likely only worth face value. Any chance of you posting a pic of the front of the coin?

Also, for the future, best practice is to put the date and denomination in the thread title. Not a big deal, but helps us keep things organized here on CCF. Thx!

Well, it would be worth $ if it were very high grade. So, basically the answer to your question is yes. Only worth a nickel as is.

If it is a 42 or 50 it could be worth a little more than face value. Otherwise, 5 cents.

and I'd say it's just worth a nickel but it
