I hate to burst your "Bubble" but what you see is a gas bubble under the copper plating. The underlying zinc is rotting. Try poking it with a tooth pick.

How could this be a Gas Bubble? I respectfully disagree. Looks like a huge Die Chip as the metal is clearly raised. Nice find!

Sorry Non Believers! It is a die chip, I pocked it with a toothpick and even with the tip of a metal forceps, and it is solid not a gas bubble.

My apologies! It sure looked like a gas bubble to me. After a little research it appears to be a LDB4-1983-003 listed on Cuds on coins.
