I need some history and facts about a coin I found in my change its a 1980 us 25 cent on the reverse is a 1967 Great Brittan Half Cent. Is it possible for the Half Cent to have found its way in to the press. I believe that the us did make coins for other countries so the us would of had to made the half penny in 1967 then in 1980 struck it with the 25 cent. so is it possible for this to happen and is their any reference I could search for this coin error.

While a very unlikely pairing, my thoughts may be confirmed by comparing the metal on both sides. The Halfpenny should be bronze, while the quarter is cupro-nickel. If the coins were cut and joined you'll see different metals for each side, and evidence of a joint.

It is a magician's coin- two halves joined together with a bit of help from a machining shop. The quarter should be copper nickel clad(silver color) while the British half penny would be copper.

I don't believe the US minted British half pennies. Even at that, the coin is most likely something put together by a machine shop as stated earlier...but images would be necessary to even hazard a guess as to exactly what it is.
