I'm posting this for a friend, who noticed an interesting detail on this 43-I Penny:

An-Interesting-1943-Penny

Take a closer look at the star. If I saw that on an American coin, I might suspect a doubled die.

He saw a few other details in the lettering that are less obvious to me:

Yes, I see .PENNY. --Bombay issue, right?
What we noticed was the apparent offset in the star. I don't see that on my 1942-I, but perhaps it's common?

Eddy,
I didn't know about .PENNY. for Bombay coins until Snooba pointed it out.

I'd like to hear views on the shape of that star, but for now I'll just keep looking through my coins for a similar one.
