Post pint fingerprint or mishandled? There was another post with a very similar image on a 2007 on a page I found when I Googled... possible someone in the mint wasn't wearing gloves :) ?

Yes. Sometimes you can get them off, from what I've read on here. I have a capped die cent with the same problem. Wondering if I can get it off without damaging it?

Probably not... By the time you can see the fingerprint "develop", the acids in the oils have begun to etch the metal, which is permanent.

You can always try PURE acetone - it's safe as it just removes organic contaminants - search here at CCF and you will find a post by BadThad on the proper sequence of safe actions you can take.

As mentioned, unless the fingerprint is fairly fresh it's already caused irreversible microscopic pitting.
