I've been looking at a lot of Barber halves in this range, and hardly any of the VF-20s have the Liberty this bold. The rest of the coin looks VF-20ish, but it may go up to VF-25 value(IMO) because of the above-average Liberty.
Nice coin evo! :-)

Hairline looks good and LIBERTY is strong however the shield lines and feathers have a bit of weakness. It is a nice Barber and not many found in this condition
VF-25 looks like a good grade to me

Not that familiar with these, but from the details I'd have to say VF - EF. Very nice looking coin!

Thanks for all the comments. This one is going back to my dealer. He is selling it as a VF35.

The obverse is closer to that grade but the reverse limits it IMO
and I just noticed an odd little spot by the eagles left talon, it almost has a slight greenish blue tint on my monitor.

You are right biokemist, I noticed that too while photograghing and confirmed it under glass. PVC ?
I'm not gonna worry about it now since it's going back. I'll see what other coins I can score tomorrow.

The long feathers at the tips of the wings provide a convenient grading feature for Barber halves and quarters. There are 5 feathers on each wing tip with four lines between them. All the lines need to be complete out to the ends in order for a coin to make EF-40. This coin has 3 complete lines on the eagle's right wing and only 1 or possibly 2 on the left wing. With just 4 or 5 out of 8 lines complete, I'd peg the grade as VF-25 or VF-30.

The green spot is a potential problem; good catch Biokemist!

The dealer admitted the grading mistake and returned my money. They stand by their grading or your money back.

That's pretty cool of them, actually. VF is actually probably right, the cap shows too much texture for F.
