There are no confirmed OMMs for 1956-D. I believe this one is a die chip, damage or both. There are two debated OMM for this year. One camp (CONECA)Say they do not exist. (San Francisco mint was closed then) Wexler maintains the two as OMM for this year: http://doubleddie.com/921576.html A good read on the whole thread to get an idea of which years for cents that are claimed to be OMM for different years.
