This is one set I don't bother with, I go straight for the silver proofs, same with the annual proof set, just get the silver. Later in the year I do a 360 and get the mint set. Yes I end up with two sets of silver quarters but I started doing it that way a while ago and have continued ever since.

I do like this years set of quarters and looking forward to them, they will also make nice pucks.

Lots of birds this year (bringing our running total to 7 ATB coins with birds as the primary subject, in case you are counting). They are nice designs.

I do like the non-bird designs a bit more...particularly Pictured Rocks.

particularly Pictured Rocks.
I think that is my favourite this year.

Ordered three sets at release. Very excited for this set because of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore quarter that honors a site I've camped at many times. Not too jazzed about the design as I feel the person in the kayak throws off the scale and perspective. Still, I'm proud of it nonetheless.

As far as the other designs, I think this year's quarters have some of the best designs in the whole program so far. Both Pictured Rocks and Voyageurs are excellent, well-framed designs. Cumberland Island is interesting as it has the bird's wing merging with the "porthole" frame. Block Island is a nice design as well, rather innocent-looking in my opinion.

I too would have preferred the coin sans kayaker, but, eh, whatever. It's still the 2nd best non-bird design of the year.
