nss-52 contest #2 - Prize 2 varieties of Mexico Un Peso 1981 Rules: 1) If you don't want to win the prize, then don't post any guesses. Let those that want the prize compete. You can still play, just don't post your answer here. 2) Open to any member who joined CCF on November 16, 2017 or earlier no matter how many posts or whether a supporter or not. 3) One guess per member. So, be certain of your answer. I may change this if a winner is not determined after a period of time to be determined by me. 4) If no guesses are made by Friday JAN-19-2018 by 6pm Eastern time, this contest will be closed. Here is the prize: Coins like these: Mexico 1981 Un Peso in the both varieties issued that year, the "open 8" and the "closed 8". Here is the contest: 1) Examine the image below very carefully. 2) Post an answer with a very detailed explanation of your reasoning that your answer is correct. First post that matches MY ANSWER is the winner. I think my answer is the correct one, but there may be those that disagree. Your reasoning must match my reasoning. You guess my answer first, you win. I have no idea if this will be extremely easy or extremely hard, so it may be a short contest or who knows....just have fun. Drinking a bottle of Dos Equis may help you win.

#1 fills first then bleeds off to #2 and #3 if the liquid is poured quickly. If the liquid goes in slow enough, #7 could fill first. I'm going with #1.

Hello, First thank you for the contest.
I would say glass 3. Beer being pored in glass 1 will start to fill. until it reaches the first exit which goes to glass 3. Glass 3 has a blocked exit at the bottom so glass 7 can never be filled, 3 will continue to fill until it reaches exit for glass 6 which is also blocked. Glass 3 will continue to fill and be the first glass to be completely full.
Thanks again.
Good luck to the other guess if I don't win.

This answer assumes the liquid is infinite. Or at the very least, will suffice to fill all glasses. Otherwise, that bottle won't fill any glass.
Halfway when pouring to 1, it will pour to 3. So, unless 3 is full, 1 will not be able to be fully filled.
When 3 starts to fill, it will pour to 7. So, unless 7 is full, 3 will not be fully filled.
7 has no holes, so any liquid that enter it may fill it up.
So, 7 will fill up first.

Well then, #6. 1 fills until it starts feeding #3 which then feeds #6.

999fine - you provided no reasoning, so your guess does not match my answer and/or reasoning.

5, 6 and 7 will not see a drop as they have no inlet. Beer will flow from 1 to 3 before it will flow to 2 from 1. There is no outlet for 3. In order to get any into 2 the level of 1 must reach the outlet for 2 which it won't ever as outlet to 3 is lower. 3 will be the first glass to fill, and will overflow endlessly. Making a mess.

Low spout on #1 fills up #3 to high spout on #3 then fill up #6. Low spout on #3 is plugged so #3 filling #7 not possible. High spout on #1 will not fill #2 or #4 and low spout on glass #2 is plugged so no flow to #5. All considering unending flow of beer from bottle. #6 fills first is my answer. Thanks for the contest!

No 4 is the only one that will ever fill to the top and continue to overflow since it is the only one that is fed by a lower opening in the prior glass.

loonielewy - this is an answer, but not MY answer. If nobody gets MY answer, then I will count this one as the winner. There is one answer that I consider better than this answer.... and then there is MY answer. If no one gets MY answer, but someone gets the better answer, then I will count that as the winner.
T1Steel - incorrect by my logic.
TNG - incorrect by my logic.
--------------------------------- I only consider your final answer as the answer I compare to my answer (that is somewhat of a very vague hint).
