Not sure if this is a possible grease strike error or environmental damage. The cent is smaller than a standard cent piece.

They are just damaged coins. They will be slightly smaller around and the rims will be thicker. Not a good thing. Just a damaged coin. Looks like it is a copper planchet coin.
