Hwadong-Poongsan are holding the 34th Hwadong Auction this coming March.
Currently, there is no solid date other than it being scheduled for mid-March.
The place of the auction is the normal spot: Seoul City, Seodaemoon-gu, Choongjeong-ro(no) Poongsan Building B1 Floor
When the official pamphlet comes out, I will translate it and post is on these forums for all to see!
If you are in Korea, try to attend this event as it is really exciting and you get access to some of the rarest coins Korea has to offer.

Is it more "funner"? than a Heritage Auction? Would love to travel there again

Any Imperial Korean coins that is worthwhile to be mentioned? Most of the coins that I'm missing are sadly very expensive, ie 1898 large character 5 fun, 1899 5 fun, 1909 5 chon and all the scarce 1/4 yang.

Most of the time they are NGC graded as well.

I personally don't mind if the coins are raw or slabbed. Of course with any coins, counterfeits are becoming an issue and sadly I got stung with one a while back with a 20 chon.
I guess the only coin that I am looking for at the moment is the 1895 1/4 yang 2 character variety at the moment. That's the only coin missing to complete the entire Gaeguk 1/4 yang coin. That coin is proved to be hard to find and when it does appear in the market - it often goes out of my reach. The rest of the Gwangmu 1/4 yang (except 1898) are just scarce / rare - maybe one day when I win the lotto.
The list of coins that I am looking out for
- 1895 1/4 yang (2 characters) - 1894 5 fun (small characters) - 1898 5 fun (large characters) - 1899 5 fun - 1909 5 chon
I'm actually surprised that the list is a lot smaller than I thought after looking at what I have!

Not really. I am living in the USA. I heard of the auction and my family received some info on it. I also heard of it and looked online since I saw their advertisement on a catalog book on Korean Coins, published in Korea.
