The plating is gone from the rim - possibly a Dryer Coin. Please post pics of the reverse and the edge. to the CCF!

That coin was damaged after it left the mint. It got stuck in something that ground down the rim or someone did it on purpose. Anyway, since you're not a collector, please feel free to post more questions in new threads. We love to look at pics and share what we know. You never know -- you might just find an error coin or die variety. Good luck.

my guess would be that cent was once in a coin holder like this.

...and someone used a grinder to get it out? Not sure I'm seeing that, especially on a 2016. What would be the point of putting it in a bezel in the first place, then grinding it out 2 years later? Anything's possible, though.... And there is some interesting dirt/patina collected in the devices. please post a better pic so we can debate this some more. Either way it's worth 1 cent.

Howdy-do, buckaroo! You're not a collector, yet. Keep looking. I love the free money aspect, on the street, coin return slots, along side cushions in furniture. And then there is metal detecting, check out the forums! Welcome aboard, Gvictor1.
