The coin is evenly toned with good luster. Still working on my camera skills but this shows the details correctly.

I think this meets AU criteria. There is definite light wear on the hair over Miss Liberty's forehead and some discoloration over her cheek from rub. The LIBERTY band shows sharp edges and all letters are strong, as are both the upper and lower olive leaves. The reverse is slightly weaker overall, with wear at the tips of the wing feathers and on the talons. I don't see any obvious hairlines or other evidence of cleaning.

An AU coin must have significant luster remaining. The photos don't show luster but if a good amount does remain then I'd call this a solid AU-50.

PS: say, scmoore61, I just noticed the reverse of this coin appears identical to the reverse of the 1908 quarter you posted in another thread. Did you perhaps mix up the photos?

Jaobler Your right about that. I don't know which one is wrong but that is the same reverse. I will need to check that out when I get home. Thanks
Rest in Peace

I have a graded ANACS AU-50 Barber quarter. The details between mine and this one are very similar, though the rim on mine is much stronger. This one has some merging between the denticles and rim, but I don't know how much that affects the grade. So I'd say XF-45 to be conservative.
