I have found many Effigy quarters from the Philadelphia mint that are off center, some more so than others. This one appears to have cut part of the image from the top right of the coin. But I have not seen any reports of errors for the Effigy quarter. Is this now an acceptable practice for the U.S. Mint?

to Community. What is the obverse look like? is it normal or looks the same. if it is normal, then your coin is a misaligned die.

Better images would be nice. Also an image of the obverse. Then we could see if just one side is affected. If the reverse is normal, then it maybe a MAD (Mis-Aligned-Die) coin. If the obverse side is is also affected the same way, then it maybe an off center. Also an image of the reeds on the outside edge of the coin. If it is full around/partial showing reeds/no reeds. This information would also be helpful. Partial collar strike: If the reeds are normal they will look like the top coin on the bottom. If they are partial (Not fully in the collar) then they will be like the center coin, uneven around the outside rim area. Missing, no reads visible the edge is all flat.

The obverse is normal and the edge is normal. I'm new to this and my picture skills are limited. Also my understanding of the terminology is minimal. If I am understanding coop's reply, I have a MAD coin. Is it worth more than 25 cents?

Unfortunately no. They become collectible when the devices fall over the rim.

I can see why you would ask.

I just found the same quarter but it is offset on both sides. The reeds are good on the bottom as you are looking at the coin from the front but the top is very shallow and a few of the reeds are only partial.

Sutarts- If it is off centre on both sides, you may have an off centre strike but will need pictures of both obverse and reverse for someone to help confirm.
