Not real good with these but I have to hone the grading skills somehow - I'll go AU55 but does have alot of chatter on it.

Based on the pics it looks AU50/53 to me. Wear on the cheek and wing, along with numerous ticks and hits hurts it.

Still a nice coin.

Yeah, hoping the "chatter" isn't from cleaning. I have a hard time telling if gold has been cleaned since these are soft coins.

I am trying to make a "fair" trade for this coin. I want to trade this $10 Liberty for it http://goccf.com/t/305845) but he doesn't seem to think it's fair. When I look at values, I look to what I can sell it to an assayer like APMEX. Neither coin is anything but a "common."

Your link doesn't work for me - takes me to the home topic page. Can you post pics of the coin you are trading for?

Mark, I think the OP copy/pasted the link from somewhere incorrectly. Here is the correct link

Oh, thank SilverDollar. I would keep the Indian Head - not liking the cleaned coin! Unless this is just a transaction for Russ to make some cash!

The color is so far off on that Indian it indicates a photo that is unreliable.

I'd prefer the Indian over the Liberty any day.

The guy you are wanting to trade with is absolutely right ..... it is not a fair trade. They may both be "common" but an Indian is much more desirable to own.
