This one maybe a light feeder finger issue on the die? Can't tell for sure.

The reason it appears behind devices and the building is because the damage to the die is on the outside of the die. The devices and building are deep into the die. So damage would happen only on the fields. (outside part of the die). The deeper devices are not touched by such damage.

The die is a negative of the a coin.

What is raised on the die, is its the lowest points on the coin. Lowest would incuse devices and fields.

What is sunk into the die, is the tallest devices on the coin. Bust/buildings and devices. Because the die is a negative of the coin struck. When you press the positive devices on a coin onto another coin, it makes them indent into the coin:

Making incuse marks on the the victim coin. If these are letters, they will be mirrored. Note example above.
