Can anyone tell me if this is truely a double die on both sides of the coin? The monument even looks doubled.

to CCF. It is not a doubled die,it is split copper plating.

So the B and E on Liberty doesn't look doubled? I see what ya mean about the splitting on the rest.

Thanks Crazybo for the information. I will read the books and anything else you recommend. So with all the different errors how does one know which errors make a coin more valuable?

Very spendable. The coin will be a copper colored Hersheys' kiss wrapper eventually. I've heard of someone that put one in acid and it sped the process up. (His coin had a hole drilled through the edge of the coin all the way through) Soon turned in to a copper glob.

When oxygen gets to the zinc beneath the plating, it starts to break down. Eventually in time, they will all deteriorate away. It is a progress of breakdown when the zinc gets exposed.
