This is 1917 Type 2 quarter. I would consider updating the title to reflect this important variety distinction.

I think it grades au58fh. It has both a full head and full rivets. The luster is not booming, as I would expect for a mint state coin, and shows some breaks in the obverse and especially in the reverse fields. The hairline is well defined, and all 16 rivets on the shield are nicely struck. Very attractive example.

AU-53. Not full head. Rivets are sharp but that does not automatically mean FH.

No indication of cleaning.

A lovely example with good eye appeal.

Understood. Overcast here for two days and I had to use the camera flash. No dedicated lighting yet for my setup and I usually use natural light from the window. Best I could do on short notice and the coin was only in my possession for a short time.

Coin is already back home along with a half dozen CC Morgans. I was amazed at the coins this girl has!
