Thought I'd share. I didn't realize how much stuff I had purchased in the late 80s and early 90s from the U.S. Mint. Can't imagine they have increased much in value apart from their silver content.

Honestly, not one of my favorites. But some that weren't favorites were the ones with the lowest mintage.

Still love to see new photos.

First ... posted in the wrong section. If a mod see this .. I am sure they will
move it for you.

Modern commemorative silver dollars are one of my favorites coins to collect.
Unfortunately they are not highly collected by others. There is a good
chance this one has gone down in value. It is considered one of the
more common dollar and not a popular design.

I hope that sometime in the future they will be more popular.

I have quite a few of the new commems and enjoy them. I have probably purchased a dozen or so from the mint and picked up most of the others for a bit less. I enjoy seeing the newly minted commems on the mint's site but am getting out of the habit of purchasing them right away. I did get one of the Navy Medals that just came out along with the Proof commem but I thought there may be a rush to get those. I will pass on future commems and pick them up a in a couple of years on the secondary market. I like them but can't afford the hit I take on them.

I do enjoy seeing the older modern commemoratives. Thanks for posting.

This is a simple design; ok, but not the strongest, IMO.

@Tap... I may start doing that as well. The problem is they start to stack up after a few years go by and I forget about them, and then it becomes a REAL chore to true up the collection.

The USO dollar received quite a bit of criticism at the time of its release due to its text-heavy design.

Per its authorizing legislation, the coin's design was to "be emblematic of the services provided by the USO to military service personnel and families." IMO, a bunch of words hardly captures the depth and breadth of the important services provided by the USO. I also don't think the generic "eagle perched on globe" on the reverse provided much insight into the USO and its services. I believe the organization deserved better for its coin.
