Dark 40. Couple of tiny corrosion spots, but nothing that would draw a detail. Very decent strike both obverse and reverse.

I would probably pass on this, unless it was low priced, which is unlikely, simply because when I'm looking at this value of a Coin I don't like dark spotted examples.

They draw my eye, which I dislike. But perfectly acceptable for lots of folks, I'm sure.

If you're shooting for originality, then this is your coin. The oil spots are slightly distracting like mox said, but considering how many of these have been doctored, the original surfaces will be appealing to other collectors looking for them when it comes time to sell.

I'm a lot lower than other people on this coin. My first impression was low-mid VF and since everyone else is being generous I'll say VF-30 but I wouldn't be surprised if they gave it VF-25.

I thought this was undergraded and was thinking hard about buying it. It was priced as a VF20 and sold for $1,980 shipped. Liked it, but I had 5 minutes to think about it and couldn't pull the trigger in that short time frame.

I think high VF or XF sounds right. Definitely not VF-20.
