When I first made the effort to learn about the coins I had been stashing away for decades, I looked through the Red Book, and then did internet searches. I found nearly all the answers I wanted right here. (I also use USPaperMoney and Error-ref, but those are not interactive sites.) I found some other sites but they were stingy with information and devoid of encouragement. Seriously. after my few years here, I not only know more about coins, I am a better person. (I swear less.)

I agree with y'all about this website, the mods, and @bobby in particular about being really great. The only additional item that I would mention is some encouragement for you to consider financially supporting the website. I'd love to see some more folks with the supporter or big supporter badges. Just in case you are interested, it is super-easy to just hit the donate button on the left hand side of your screen.

This site is a great example for the up and coming generation on how to do it right. Everyone involved should be proud of the atmosphere they have created here. Many thanks.

Yes this is a great coin web site. I'd look for more of them but just to old and lazy and probably couldn't fine a better place for coin information. and I love all those little faces and things you can add to your reply.

I'm a member on a number of other numismatic forums. Most are either ghost towns, or plagued by elitism.
CCF is a constant stream of new content, moderated by the best, and populated by the friendliest. Maybe that's why I have more posts here than all my other online forums combined.

Quote: The presentation is clean and doesn't distract from the content. In fact, I actually like the old-timey look of the site (it's not that clean - the ads are a bit distracting - but I understand that you need the ad revenue). They say "it looks like Win 95". No, it doesn't, it looks like Win XP; and either way, that's a good thing, because would you want it to look like Win 8?

I like the site look and feel. Feels comfortable to me and easy to navigate. However, I don't come here because the site looks "classic", although that is a plus in my book. I come here for the members and the content. Both of which I find to be several cuts above some other forums.

Maybe it's "the kiddie playground" because on the sites doing the disparaging the "kiddies (newbies)" aren't made very welcome.

This site being not "up to date" is what makes it work for me. Too many sites put more attention into style over substance, and this format just plain works.
