Your photos are not of high enough quality to make a reasonable guess.

That won't stop me.

Here is your photo enhanced:

It looks very real.

If authenticated and graded between somewhere near VF - a few thousand dollars.

de nada

Yeah, seems Ok,the 6 in the date probably needs a look thou.
They are around although rare, official Mintage figures, like a lot of Oz.Coins seem to be a guestimate.

The Wynyard coin is a Half Sovereign.

DS have a worse one than this asking 3,500

- but they would accept less.

The problem with China versions of Gold coins is that they got clever and now use gold plated Tungsten, a metal with very near the same weight and specific gravity as gold, so they are a wee bit harder to spot.

Counterfeit Sovereigns have a long history and have been traced to India, the Middle East, England, Australia and quite a few other countries.

The good people at NGC and PCGS have XRF scanners 3D microscopes and other fun toys and have handled thousands of them - I'd send it off to them.

At premium grades this is worth as much as the 1855, and they are by no means easy to find in good grades.

Good luck.
