I just came across one of those sellers that have sold multiples of the same coin using the same image in all the listings. Yes, it very well could be a stock image but it's not mentioned as such in the listings. Anyways, I came across several 1991 ASE's graded ANACS MS70 that had been sold by this seller for large sums of money and upon viewing the full size image of the slabbed coin it immediately struck me as suspect. So I went and pulled up a hi-def image of a PCGS example of the same coin to compare. And I have noticed several subtle differences between the two and would like to get the consensus of the community. I hope I'm just seeing things, but if I'm not, then the Chinese have really upped their game! *** Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. ***

I don't see anything obvious wrong or suspicious with the ANACS coin. It looks to me like differences in lighting.

Yeah, the differing lighting conditions of the two coins makes it impossible to really compare. However, I think the ANACS coin is fine. Just because ANACS is essentially third in the TPG hierarchy doesn't mean they can't spot a fake ASE or grade correctly.

Yeah, it's probably just my old tired eyes but here were a couple of the areas that looked suspect to me..... And the ANACS coin doesn't show anywhere near the details as the PCGS coin. But then again....it could just be the lighting.

I think it's just lighting and camera angles. You never know for sure but the ANACS coin is not an obvious counterfeit and is probably a typical MS70 in a ANACS holder.

Both look ok to me...
PCGS graded 49 out of over 10,000 as 70's
ANACS graded 779 of 4748 as 70's

The ANACS coin is fine as far as being real, paying big bucks for an ANACS 70 modern on the other hand....

Also, the certification number checks out as legitimate on the ANACS website.

I agree it's the lighting. It's coming from almost opposite directions so you can't really see the same lines you're using to compare bigger/higher.

Looks legit to me. It's just the lighting that makes it look a little different.
Although I would probably not buy any ANACS or ICG MS-70 coin.
