is the reverse PMD or ? was thinking Die Deterioration but I can see where there
could have been a hit near the E in CENT.

Sure looks like there is at least some PMD on the rev to me. Maybe a bored schoolchild rubbing back and forth with a ballpoint pen?

Almost looks like it was soldier in the center, then altered trying to remove it. Perhaps a birth year/special year for someone at one time.
