im new to this site but I have been scoping my coins evertime I get them..my eye sight not great but I got a 1981 quarter with some kimd of error maybe double stamped on word liberty and the D idnt clearlooks like a dot..the word IN also fatt or smushed with the TR in trust. What do I do with it. Any advice groupies

You almost answered your own question even without posting a pix! Double stamped= Mechanical Damage {MD}. A Doubled die is the process of making the die, MD is the process of making the coin. Terminology will get ya!

A "dot" mintmark on coins 1975-1981/2 is quite common. Due to three possible factors, a Grease Filled Die, a broken center post in the die device or that was the broken puch being used. Take your pick, no bigga deal. Edge lettering being effected could possibly be a grease filled device strike or more commonly damaged from a coin wrapper spinner. See, all without a single picture, know why? This question is asked at least once here every day!
