What's going on with Philadelphia? I opened a bank roll of quarters and the first 6 had a die chip on the man's brow seemingly giving him a fuzzy eyebrow then the next 1 had the die chip on the underside of his hat brim AND the girls hair then the next 1 had the die chip on his eyebrow AND on his hat AND on the girls nose then the next 1 had the die chip on the man's hat AND the girl's nose. What would be the value of such common die chip coins?
This sort of thing is increasingly common on today's cheaply-produced coins, which are hardly "minted" at all but just churned out mindlessly by the millions every day.
They are only concerned with making a coin for its purpose. We are demanding too much for that they are making. Die chips happen on the later die states of the die. So about 1/2 or more coins struck with dies will show a die aging issue. Keep the good coins, spend the rest.
