nothing overly special upon first look, but still... these things surface now and then, always cool to find one

i was out stomping around the island & I bought a bottle of water late last night at circle k, got the nickel in change, didn't see it til today

That has a resemblance of RPM-026. Maybe it's the lighting. Nice find, regardless!

repunched mintmark, am guessing 206 is a variety designation?

huh. well, I just found variety vista's RPM 1945-D War Nickel page.. I will have to study the mm on that nickel.

lol... 026, not 206... no wonder I was stumped

i can't find any kind of DDO / DDR evidence, I don't see any die cracks, and I don't detect any rpm action, but I see stuff making me wonder if there's a speck of lamination issue on the obv, but likely just my eyes trying to make something of nothing... still a nice find, hard to be unhappy with a silver nickel from pocket change... circle k always handing something cool to me
