Unfortunately no visible date, but mint/assayer looks like it may be NG-M for Guatemala. As with others recently posted, "white metal", non-magnetic and underweight.

Have now seen three examples of this CC 1R, and the most recent is rather crummy but struck up in areas the first two weren't and thus finally yielded a date - 1813.

Moderators, despite this being an old thread, can "1813" be added to the title for reference purposes?

I got XRF results today. They are:

59% Cu
14% Ni
27% Zn

Looks like German silver to me!

Specific Gravity of elemental silver to German silver is a dead giveaway and is useful for those lacking any XRF resources.
In this case it may not be 8.512, but certainly nowhere near genuine silver.
