After that Iīve read many messages in the forum I donīt see that you have a lot of interest in coins of Euro.

English coins, Australian coins, Asian coins.. There is some motive for what this happens?, there are very ugly the designs of our coins?

A collector from Europe.

Motive? None personally for me, although I tend to collect older 19c-20c coins.
I suspect the issue in the US is that most collectors here focus on US issues or coins they have some familiarity, such as Canada.
And from what what I've seen at US coin shows, very few dealers stock more recent European coins, ie the Euro.

There are plenty of ugly US coins...we certainly don't need to pick on the Euro issues.

I really like the Euro designs, they are a little hard to find here in Oz though.

I for one love Euros!!

I finished my Euro Dansco album (7400) two days ago ! It's the first of any album I've been able to fill the whole way.

Then I did some research and realized that there are more not included in the Dansco album....a little frustrating but I'm excited to keep going. The problem I'm having now is that like KurtS said, I'm unfamiliar with them. I'm having a difficult find a list online of which other sets are available (what do I need to complete my type set?) from countries new to the union. I've had some trouble finding this information online. (I've just started an alternate topic on this so as not to hijack your thread https://goccf.com/t/30885)

I like most of the designs (Belgium being one of the exceptions). I wish some of the countries would mix up the designs for each denomination instead of having the same/nearly the same design straight through.

Well thats my two (euro)cents.

Yes, you have reason, in europe also we collect, preferably, the coins near to our countries.

In this part of the world the things are complicated since countries are getting increasingly in the currency Euro and the albums remain obsolete since they donīt include the new countries.

http://personales.ya.com/telemaco007/indice.htm

In two years three new countries have added to the coin Euro: Slovenia, Malta and Cyprus. In addition, there are some countries that have the coin adopted Euro but its designs donīt circulate (Monaco and Vatican). In any countries they donīt mint for the traffic full sets per year, in end, a mess.

Also there are adding commemorative coins of two Euros, three, 10, 12 ... every year, though not all the countries have them.

In Europe, we have webpages like coincommunity, for example, http://www.euroswapper.com, where we can find information and to swap coins between european countries.

I bought a complete set of all 12 (at the time) countries of the European Union with circulating currency in nice BU and the 7400 album some years ago. All of my coins are dated between 1999 and 2002. I love that set and take it every once in awhile to take a look at them.

I casually collect Euros. One of my coworkers is an Italian national and she always sells me her change for converted face value when she comes back from visiting Milan or a European scientific meeting. I do not usually get fresh MS coins, but they are lightly circulated most of the time.

I just had to check. The same portrait obverse from € 0.01-€ 2? By contrast, this Greek Euro is pretty cool:

It's just unexplored territory for me......I have a passion for U.S. coins because I'm from here and I love our history, etc..... but I do have a lot of older coins from all over the world too.....but no Euros. From what I've seen, they're very beautiful, and i'll probably look into them in the near future though.
A friend from Scotland sent me a "Scottish pound note" since they're disappearing and going to Euros........
You know......since they ARE switching over to this new common money......the "older" coins would be nice to try to collect and I do have a varied collection of them now and plan on continuing that!
I have.....ummmm....let's see..
Spain, Portugal, Russian, Soviet Union, Great Britain, Poland, Austrian (old), Germany, Italian, Japan, South African, Mexico, Israel, Phillipines, Canadian,.......just to name some off the top of my head and I know I'm forgetting some....
but I like them and they're cool to have in my collection!.......I want more and Euros too !

yes, of course, the designs of Belgium are very ugly, I hope that they put soon a young and pretty queen in this country to improve their coins.

Perhaps my dog "Gizmo" will be a good motive how design of the Belgium coins. What do you think?.

Lol! One of my cats happens to be named Gizmo too. I think either of them would be a marked improvement to the Belgium design.

I like about most of the the Euro designs. Yes I do believe some of the designs are uninteresting, but then again, so are some of our quarter designs.

I haven't seen the Belgium euro's yet. How bad can they possibly be?
