Good afternoon. I'd like to know about gradation and price. Thanx.

First, here's a bit more information regarding this note:

This can be a pricey note, but unfortunately your particular example's condition places it down toward the lower end of the grading scale, so I'm hard pressed to come up with a realistic retail market value.

It looks like P6b, the Timoshev signature from 1903-1909, you'll have to verify that or post better photos.

The condition is very rough, as LC said, it's not worth keeping as an investment, the value isn't going anywhere at this grade. Appears to be a low Fine to me, with folds, creases, stains, rounded corners, and eroded folds.

Take some pictures with the note laying flat on a surface and the camera lens perpendicular to the surface, and put it on ebay. A $40 opening bid should start things off. Catalog value is $100 for the Timoshev signature, but the eye appeal for the grade is not good. Ship between some cardboard in a hard mailer for about $5 to US.

Put some better photos up here and we'll be able to verify the signature. Take it out of the holder, gently, and don't let the glare in the photos.

I believe you will find the signatures to be those of Pleske and Metz.

Yes, they are both Pleske signatures, making both notes P6a, the more valuable. I'll raise my opening bid for the first on ebay to $65, all other considerations are still there, it's not in pleasing condition, but it has a nominal value of between $80 and $300. Let the market decide that one.

The second note is much nicer, clean, less margin damage, and just the central fold is eroded. There is a margin tear on the left. I grade it as Very Fine, with a value of between $300 if Fine and $500 if Extra Fine, so perhaps around $350 or $400.

Being in Afghanistan, marketing could be a problem. You might want to have them certified and graded professionally, I recommend PMG in Florida, but it's going to cost you $100 to do that, you might not want to spend that upfront.
