I acquired these a while back, but I have absolutely no idea what they are other than post-Ching (1912) Chinese coins. Any comments and/or help would be appreciated.

G'day,
I think the crossed flags are assocated with the Republic of China, of which Dr Sun Yat Sen was President.
The sun-ray symbol is associated with the Kuo-Min-Tang Party, which lost the Civil War, which ended in 1949, and they fled to Taiwan.

Peter THOMAS- Thanks for that bit of info. Do you have any guesses as to the specific dates and/or locations of mintage?

On the contrary, the one with the dragon is from the Imperial period - the dragon was the badge of the Emperor, and wasn't used on Republican coins. This first coin is a 20 cash and is dated with the 60-year cyclical calendar; the date translates to 1907 AD. There is no mintmark, so it's from the central Imperial mint. According to Krause it comes in two varieties, "thin" (KM/Y# 11.2, 1.2 to 1.7 mm) and "thick" (KM/Y# 11.3, 2.0 to 2.3 mm). The "thick" one is slightly scarcer.

The second one (with the flags) is a 20 cash from the Republic, dated Year 10 (1921), also from the central mint. KM/Y# 308a.

The third one is a 10 cash dated Year 25 of the Republic (1936), KM/Y# 347. The reverse shows a "spade coin", a primitive form of Chinese money used in ancient China, circa 300 BC. Mintage reported at 311 million.

Technically the Chinese Civil War is still going on, although the main fighting has ended in 1949, with several battle going on in the 50s, like the First Taiwan Straight Crisis of 1954. Mostly political fighting today though.

A little bit of topic :)
