I was browsing the Heritage site and fell completely in love with this coin. I bid and won it! Absolutely tickled and can't wait to get it in hand.

I've googled the heck out of it and checked Krause but haven't been able to find much on it. Of 11000 minted, are most still around? I haven't seen it anywhere else.

I'm a newbie and am still learning but could it be a proof in spite of the PCGS grading?

Thanks for any info.

I don't know how to tell the difference between originals and official restrikes. I would assume PCGS knows the difference, but mistakes are still possible.

As for how many originals survive, it's hard to say. Since the coins were struck, Hungary has suffered through two World Wars, a couple of uprisings, and several decades of Communist rule; such things tend to see collector coins (especially gold ones) returned to the melting pot.
