I have a 1970 S double die penny, only the date and the word Liberty are double, not in God we trust. Having a hard time finding information on this coin. Does everything have to be double to make it a true double die? Thanks, Betty
Images would help to see what you have. There are different classes of doubled dies. Depending of what class you have. Some have the letters rotated from the main location. Some are made from different hubs with varying hub sizes which vary according to the wear on the hubs. Some have doubled eyelids. Some have notching in the corners of the devices. Some have extra columns. There are a lot of different examples of NON-doubled dies. These are created by loose machinery and not a die that has been hub doubled. So it depends on what you have. So images would be a great help.
